Which CPUs have integrated graphics?

Some processors can drive a monitor on their own. Others show nothing until a graphics card is fitted. Here is how to tell, with a Yes or No for every processor we build with.

Short answer. Most Intel Core processors have integrated graphics, unless the model name ends in F or KF. Most AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000 processors have basic integrated graphics, unless the name ends in F. Older Ryzen 5000 processors only have it if the model name ends in G.

Integrated graphics is a small graphics chip built into the processor. It sends a picture to your monitor through the video ports on the motherboard, so the PC works without a separate graphics card.

Whether a processor has it depends on the exact model, and the name usually tells you:

  • Intel Core and Core Ultra: an F or KF at the end of the name means no integrated graphics. Models without the F have it.
  • AMD Ryzen 4000 and 5000: no integrated graphics, unless the name ends in G or GT, such as the Ryzen 5 5600G.
  • AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000: basic Radeon graphics is built in, including the X3D gaming models, unless the name ends in F (such as the Ryzen 5 7500F).
  • AMD Ryzen 8000: the G models have the fastest integrated graphics here. The F models, such as the Ryzen 5 8400F, have none.

Integrated graphics is enough for Windows, office work, video and light games. It is not a replacement for a graphics card in modern games: the Ryzen 8000G chips manage lighter titles at low settings, and the rest are for desktop use.

What a “None or IGPU” build means

Some of our builds list the graphics as “None or IGPU”. That means no graphics card is fitted. With a Yes processor from the table, the PC gives a picture from the motherboard’s video ports and is ready for desktop work and light games. With a No processor, it cannot display anything until a graphics card is added, so choose one of those only if you already have a card to fit.
